It's 4am and I'm Awake

I haven't been up all night, I just woke up after falling asleep at around 1am(ish) with the laptop on and...Here I am! Well, as I'm mostly awake now and functioning (need to get and get a drink but cannot be bothered with downstairs so it'll likely be tap water...Need to put a bottle of squash or something in my room perhaps) I figured I ought to maybe post something.

It's been eventful since I last posted.

I returned to college on the 6th, and A Levels involve so much more work than AS, it's scary! I don't like the novel ('Waterland' by Graham Swift) we have for English, we're making a horror-comedy trailer for Media (with zombies) and the other Sociology teacher is a bit of a knob (but not actively trying to be).

I turned 18 on the 13th and had a great night out with my family at one of my favourite restaurants. Got quite drunk and went to college hungover on Tuesday the 14th.

On the 17th I went clubbing with people who are probably the best friends I've ever had and may ever have. Kelly organised it and it was perfect...Best birthday ever and amazing memories I'll treasure for the rest of my life.

On the knitting front I have a new project: a Californian King snake! He's about halfway done now and getting very long. This is my first experience of colourwork, proper colourwork, and I'm rather enjoying it.

I almost finished another blue Fetching to make a pair but somehow messed up and then lost stitches when I tried to tink and fix it and a mess occurred. Sad times. Will have to have another stab once snakey is done. Because he is a test knit and has a deadline.

Off to go back to sleep now (with the laptop off) as Blogger seems to be a bit temperamental tonight.

Toodlepip!

New Knitted Things!

Recently I discovered a programme known as "KnitPro" which charts any image you upload! Using it, I charted a Nobody sigil from Kingdom Hearts:

I'm rather happy with it and might try adding it to a scarf pattern when I have more time!

I also finished a pair of Fetchings for a friend's 17th birthday and only just finished them on the morning of her party after a few disasters (including my larger cable needle going missing! It's still MIA D8).

I'm currently working on a DS cosy and can finally do the magic/Turkish cast on! Yay!

After this I have birthday presents to knit for people I'll be seeing at expo and of course I go back to college in just over two weeks (Scary!).

I've also begun an epic Roxas/Zexion fic which I'm making sure to work on a few times a day.

Busy, busy bee!

Result!

Well, it certainly has been a long time since I've posted but there hasn't really been much to post about, if I'm honest.

I got the results of my AS Levels today.

English Language & Literature: A
Sociology: B
Media: B

I'm so fucking chuffed 8D.

Now These Points of Data Make A Beautiful Line...

Well...Shit. Had some rather bad news today concerning a member of my family's health so...Could have been a hell of a lot better...Still, with the help of three very awesome friends, I'm feeling a lot better now.

Trust me, tearing up every few minutes on a 40 minute bus journey home isn't much fun.

Anywho, onto less depressing subjects~

I've decided, at long last, to purchase Portal. I've heard nothing but good things about it and I really ought to play the game that birthed Still Alive by Jonathan Coulton, which is one of my favourite songs.

I've had a lot of positive feedback for the latest rewrite of Apocalypse Theory. I think I'm onto something and am really hoping that this time I'll actually finish it. Well, the first book anyway. Four to five years of writing, developing and creating characters may finally be paying off (some of the characters are even older than that). I was worried that the first scenes would gross people out too much or that the back story would put people off but my fears appear to be ill-founded 8D.

Election Day today. I couldn't vote as I'm not 18 until September (boo). I think I would have voted Lib Dem as they had the best policies for students. I just hope whoever gets in sort the country out XD.

I haven't started revising for my A Levels yet (those of you who knew me during my GCSEs know I'm notoriously bad at revision...) but I know which areas I need to revise and which areas I know well enough to pay less attention to which is definitely a mark in my favour.

Recently started Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney at long last. My god, it really is awesome! I've always had a passing interest into law and the like (blame my CSI addiction) and it really feeds that well. Not to mention all the little puns and funny bits in there, and the great characters. Being a writer, the importance of good characterisation is tenfold for me. If there are not characters I can grow to like and identify with I find it difficult to progress with something. Might be why I didn't like Of Mice and Men (plus the weird writing style...Urgh). Probably the reason why I take a fandom hook, line and sinker if I find a character I truly adore. At some point I need to write down the rambling Neffnie and I had about Nobodies...It was quite something XD.

Still unsure about university...I've found that I may be able to receive EMA even if I stay on a third year at college. I'm definitely tempted. I could get a few more qualifications and have more time to think about which university and which course I want to take. Plus, gives me more time to save up for it!

I Can See Clearly Now...

Well...Shit. I made a plan to update this regularly and promptly forgot *le sigh*. Ah well.

News...Hmmm

I has glasses now. I'm partially long sighted and so I have glasses for "concentrating" (yes, that's what the optician said). So I'm using them with computers, writing and reading. I look more intelligent when I wear them too XD.

My plans for expo are in some jeopardy, as the ebay seller I bought my Ienzo wig from reversed the payment shortly after it went through. Paypal failed to notify me and I find this out yesterday. It was due this week. And now, because of the backlog of post due to the suspended flights, it might not even arrive before expo ._. I will cry if this happens, I've wanted to cosplay Ienzo for so long! ;___;

Not much else to report, really, SoulSilver is fantastic (currently training my team in Diamond in preparation for the Elite Four...Wild Pokemon in Johto just aren't strong enough to do it quickly XD).

My first A Level exams are on the 27th...Yeah, better get revising!

The election is less than a week away now 0_0 Sadly, I can't vote, but I'm hoping the Lib Dems will get in, they seem to know what they're talking about and their plans to get rid of tuition fees would really help me out!

Also: The Pope Song by Tim Minchin is fucking ace, go watch it!

Longview

Booooored. And apparently very slack at updating this blog :O I'm a bit irritate with myself as I said I'd try to keep this as a constant thing...Maybe I ought to set two or three days a week in which I MUST update this blog? That sounds like a good idea!

So! Every Wednesday and Sunday, at least, I will update this blog.

So, how are things? Well, general cosplay meets and enjoying my new friends has been successful, I've hardly spent a weekend at home alone which is very good. I feel all active and popular XD. The time I do have to myself is mostly spent...Wait for it...Knitting XD. It's so. Damn. Addicting. Gah.

Speaking of addictions, I'm quitting smoking. Almost done with it, too. Down to 2-3 cigarettes a day from 4+ 8D. Go me!

College is going okay, still boring and apparently I somehow failed my Functional Skills exam but oh well, I couldn't really care less, to be perfectly honest.

My eyebrow piercing is playing up once more. I was told to get a smaller (1.2mm) bar for it and got a curved one that looks much better. However, there is some red scar tissue behind the top ball that looks horrible. A friend lent me some Bio Oil that would help it and as it has begun healing again, of course, there is crust and yuck. *le sigh* Eventually this piercing will be find and pretty and I can finally enjoy it.

Next major cosplay outing is MCM Expo in May. Plans so far are: Ienzo. I was asked to cosplay Tai from Questionable Content but as of yet it looks like this won't be happening. I'm more than happy to cosplay Ienzo for both days though! I have everything except the wig, really. A friend is lending me the labcoat and I bought a V-necked jumper from Primark on Saturday. It's comfy as hell and works great under my knitted jumper as it stops the wind blowing straight through to my arms.

Anyway, hopefully that will be a success as I have to cut, dye and style the wig to get the right gradient that Ienzo's hair has. Little bastard, having such pretty and difficult to replicate hair XD.

I'm writing this in college, on my own, in a computer room (was reminded of the existence of this by a Functional Skills lesson on blogging from MS Word). Why am I on my own? The lesson is over and Shasmin, who usually pisses about in here with me, isn't here. Sad times!

I pre-ordered Pokemon SoulSilver on Friday and got the dispatch email yesterday 8D. Hopefully that'll arrive on Friday with a figurine of either Lugia or Ho-Oh (as I pre-ordered from GAME). Fingers crossed!

So, yes, I'm bored, waiting for either someone to appear on MSN, DA or Twitter to entertain me at last!

I don't really think I have anything more to write about...I wish FaceBook wasn't blocked here so I could entertain myself better...Oh well.

Emmy out!
